These are the last couple miniatures rounding out the human team. Two catchers.
Once again, been working to match a painted team I bought off of Ebay. Which had about half the minis I needed to make up a Blood Bowl team. I painted these similar to previous models. The eyes are a bit of a pain on these minis with the helmet face guard, but I did the best I could.
On the Catchers, I removed the original hand that was holding a ball and replaced them with catcher’s mitt hands. In Blood Bowl, the standard I’m used to, is that the Thrower is the only mini holding the ball. Sometimes if the team doesn’t have a Thrower, and just has a Runner, that mini will have the ball. It just makes it easier for identification and teaching new people the game. Unfortunately the new Blood Bowl minis have added a ball to the catchers and some other minis like the Star Players (Morg ‘N’ Thorg e.g.). So I ended up modifying them when possible.
Next up, more Humans. Also, for reals.
Very nice! 🙂 Eyes look good to me, so well done on painting round that face guard!

Thanks JNV! I won’t tell you how many attempts went into that, haha!

Great round off to the team, like the fact that you’ve removed the balls (always seemed weird having so many players modelled with a ball !) and I think you’ve done a great job with the eyes

Neutered indeed! Yea, I imagine most people wouldn’t think twice about it, but it just seems weird when that’s how you learned the game. So many little things that just make it better.

Nicely done indeed. It always amazes me just how two similar figures can look so different just as a result of the colour scheme. Like the white lines on the bases, nice touch. 😊

Thanks TIM! Y’know, I have a couple minis coming up eventually that will have completely different color schemes. I’ve been looking forward to doing those and seeing the end result. Basically the same minis, that play for different teams, if that makes sense. I’ll try to do a side by side, once I get to them.

They came up well, and the eyes look fine. Would never have picked any kind of issue (and still can’t see any!)
Where did you get the extra catcher’s gloves from?

Oh man…I’ve actually had those things since 2016 or beyond. They came from a fantasy football sprue of hands. Most likely from Comixininos or Noble Knight Games. This looks close: https://www.comixininos.com/set-of-thower-catcher-fantasy-football-tabletop-arts.html

Very nice and effective painting. The eyes came out well – I feel your pain on painting eyes under helmets after doing my Jaguar Warriors!

Thanks Mark, it wasn’t the worse, but it’s one of those “Please, let’s not screw this up, so I can just get the model done!” things. I know some people paint the eyes first so they don’t have to deal with that later. Maybe someday I’ll give that a try, but I have a feeling I’d accidentally paint over the eyes after I painted them!

Very nice painting. I’m impressed that you even attempted to do the eyes on these chaps; I long since gave up on them.

Thanks AB. I actually almost skipped the eyes. It’s such a small slit, and it’s kinda not worth it. But up close it adds a little character.

Great work again, and well done with the eyes – those look tricky to get in to. Good thinking on switching out the ball hands for catcher’s mitts, there do seem to be a lot of balls getting thrown around especially on the human team (trying desperately not to make any jokes about balls here…) – I know when I first looked at the game I found that a bit confusing. Just noticed that none of the new snotlings is carrying a ball – that’s a nice touch.

You see it a lot on the early 2016 Star Players. It’s not a hard and fast rule, but I can’t remember any of the non-throwers (or at least non-runners) in the 3e models carrying a football. I just think it makes it easier for beginners to learn, and I’m pretty the one that’s always teaching games.
